Most of us go through life unaware that how we breathe may be causing a host of the troubles, pain and disease in our bodies. Did you know that 95% of illnesses relate to incorrect breathing and that they way you breathe in life starts from the moment you are born.

Learning how to breathe isn’t just a matter of a few breathing exercises. In order to regain the natural breathing mechanism that supports well-being, aliveness and healthy longevity, you need to transform unconscious patterns that cause you to breathe incorrectly in the first place.

Breathe is a 3-day retreat to expand your awareness and capacity to breathe in ways that lead to better physical, emotional and mental health.

This retreat is especially for you if you:

  • suffer from stress or feelings of overwhelm
  • have anxiety and/or depression

On this retreat you will experience:

Breath Techniques

Breathing techniques can be incredibly helpful for stress relief and overall well-being. You will be exposed to a range of different breathing techniques that are all designed to achieve different outcomes including optimizing health, managing emotions, reducing stress and anxiety, achieving focus and productivity and activating your creativity.

Breath Repatterning

In the Breath Repatterning we will resolve non-coherent birth -related breathing issues we resonate (that lead to asthma, smoking, shortness of breath or breath holding), so we can enjoy breathing and inhaling for the joy and aliveness of life. We will also repattern some bad breathing habits with the Resonant Breath Repatterning to support balance and well-being, foster resilience and stamina and activate self-healing from any illness we may be suffering with.

Perfume Making

Plant-based perfumes can do much more than help us smell good.  The fragrant smoke of various plants has been used in divination and healing for centuries. Fragrance molecules easily penetrate the blood following inhalation or massage and affect us physically, emotionally and mentally. You will discover your own inner perfumer and create your own transformative perfume.

River Play

You can enjoy various activities on the Vaal River, such as swimming, canoeing or kayaking, river rafting or just floating gently down the river on a rubber tube. Drink in the breathtaking beauty and serenity of the natural surroundings, enjoy some bird watching (450 species of bird in the area) or just lie on the banks of the river and read your favourite book.

Gentle Movement

Be guided in practices that balance the chakras and contribute to your overall wellness. You will enter a meditative state, drawing your attention inward and relaxing into stillness and presence. Gentle poses target connective tissue and release tension held in the deep fascia of your body. Chanting, singing, movement and specific breathing patterns activate the sleeping, unaroused energy at the base of your spine.

Deep Rest

The retreat is designed in a way that engaging activities are balanced with restful downtime. The days have been structured in such a way that there will be adequate leisure time, for you to just be, to rest, to relax and to breathe, while enjoying the beautiful nature and surrounding environment at your leisure. At the same time within the design of each activity you will be guided to a place of deeper rest within yourself.
